Matt Silver is a writer and arts and culture commentator who grew up in suburban Philadelphia with a maladaptive preoccupation with the Philadelphia 76ers and John Chaney’s Temple Owls. The former host of The Silver Standard on 610 ESPN Philadelphia, Matt’s also a music evangelist, having contributed regularly to NPR’s classical and jazz radio affiliate in Philadelphia—WRTI-FM—for many years.
His writing has also appeared on NPR.org and public media platforms across the country, as well as in The Jewish Exponent (Philadelphia), Washington Jewish Week, Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, The Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle, and The Times of Israel.
