The event – dubbed the ‘West Palm Beach Classic’ – will be held at Keiser University’s Massimino Court with games being played on December 20-21. The court is named for the legendary men’s basketball coach Rollie Massimino who led Keiser’s men’s basketball program from 2006 until his death in 2017. Massimino is best remembered for leading Villanova’s team from 1973 to 1992, including the Wildcats’ national championship season of 1984-85.
3. Coast 2 Coast: A Legacy in Women’s Basketball
Anderson, who just recently launched Coast 2 Coast during this off-season, is no stranger to elite level basketball. She starred at Vanderbilt from 1994 to 1998 and then spent one season as a professional for the Nashville Noise of the American Basketball League (the WNBA was not founded until 1996).
Anderson’s daughter, Naz Hillmon, was Michigan’s highest drafted women’s player ever, having been selected 15th overall in 2022 by the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. During her career at Michigan, Hillmon was selected to the Big Ten First Team four times, Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2019, Big Ten Player of the Year in 2021 and was a first team national All-American twice.
